how important is knowing your par. I know you can have low par but is it possible to have to much par.. what is the recommend amount of par at different depths

Depending on what you want to keep in your tank-
For SPS i try to have 250 or more up to 700 depending on the species. For softies and LPS ive seen them thrive in 70 par and up Ive seen zoas melt around 500 par because they were not acclimated to it slowly. most coral will adapt to intense par if you acclimate it to the increased intensity slowly.
