I recently purchased a Mint Pavona and have been acclimating it for a few weeks at around 100 PAR . It is starting to get a little brown on the top side with darker brown spots underneath. Im assuming it needs more light. ORA and Reef Builders suggest to give it low light. For those that have owned this coral, is there a sweet spot that you have found that the coral prefers? Thx

Many might not agree but I’ve found pavona to thrive in almost any condition. It’s the largest coral ever found in the ocean for a reason lol

My pavona is right up on top of my rocks directly under metal hallides, give it more light and good flow, 100 par is not enough for sps.

150-200 par is where I keep mine. High flow.

Pavona will grow like a weed under almost any conditions. Obviously, it will grow faster under higher intensity lighting, but I've had it at ~125 and it thrived. I'm not saying that light isn't, but flow is the more important factor with this coral.
