I recently purchased a 40 gallon breeder with plans on 2 clown fish and a RTBA, maybe a clam also. How may Par38 bulbs would work? Thanks for the input.

Clam should do well under 300 par as would the nem.

How many bulbs over a 40 gallon breeder would be sufficient?

Coverage wise I think you would need a minimum of three. I'm not sure if that would be enough par for a nem though. If you end up needing more you may find that a black box type LED solution may end up being both cheaper and better.
