Patience or more snails?

The algae comes back rapidly during lights on after I've scraped the glass. Our poor single conch snail has a go but can't keep up.

Lots of diatoms too but not fussed about those, I know they'll go away.

This was a fishless cycle with Dr Tim's that was started in November 2025, and we won't get any fish until late April. We currently just have some zoas, purple mat and a leather.

Should I get some additional snails or leave it alone?

I don't think you will make a wrong choice either way, it looks fine to me, but if you want more snails go for it!

Are you talking about the green film algae on the glass? That's typical, and what you're algae scraper is for

Why are you waiting so long to add fish?

If your talking about the glass acceptance and a scraper is all I can think of to help. I just finished scraping a tank that was just scraped yesterday and will need it again tomorrow.

EDIT: See the clear path that the scraper made? I just cleaned that front glass 2 hours ago

Hah fair play y'all, thanks for the responses! It's my partner's tank and they're away until end of March, and then we're travelling in April for two weeks, so it made more sense to add fish after that so we can be there to monitor them!
