Hi all....have a PBT been in my DT for about a year no problems... i just noticed white growth on him. I have never had ich before....but have looked at many threads... this actually looks like an un shaved mans face... with the stubble coming from the skin....you can see sort of like small thin white/grey filaments just barely poking out of the skin... he also has white growth on his fins...like little clumps of white not spots...like a mass.... i tried to get pics and will keep trying....could it be lympho whatever it is called? Thanks

Will need photos to make an accurate diagnosis. Some of what you are describing sounds like ich or velvet; some sounds like Lympho or possibly a bacterial infection.

Definitely not crypto, doesn't look like lymph. There was a similar thread on that "other" forum a while back about a Powder Brown tang with similar lesions/growths all over it. Don't think a diagnosis was ever confirmed.

thanks all...they dont appear alive...it is like dead skin or mucus or something....the ones on the body look more like dead skin...the ones on the fins seem to have more mass..if that makes sense

How long has it been since you noticed this? Did it happen all at once like overnight? Have you put anything new or wet in the tank recently?

An in-tank pump? Was the pump new or was it from another set up? Wonder if something was on that pump?

Or perhaps a bad reaction to the phosbond if it's a skin problem. Could it be the beginning of Brook? I don't think so. It's not ich or velvet.

It almost looks like pods to me but they don't move.

Where's the #Reefsquad??
How many can you count?

I had something that looked similar to this on my foxface. I dosed prazipro thinking it was some kind of worm. They disappeared a day after dosing it. Never came back.
