Does anyone have any insight on an apparent mysis shortage, specifically from Piscene Energy (PE) ? I’ve been trying to get the flat packs for a few months now and a couple LFS mentioned a shortage only offering the cubes. I’ve emailed the company, but no response yet.

BRS had a sale a couple weeks ago, 15-20% off I forgot exactly. I bought a bunch.......and unknowngly left a flat pack in the box that I put in the garage. Trash day is tomorrow and it cant come fast enough! That rotting pound of shrimp stinks to high heaven! It took me about a week to figure out where that funky smell was coming from. So I guess blame me! Ha

Its been a few weeks but my LFS had the flat packs in all sizes the last time I was up.
Plenty of flat packs when I was at LFS 1 week ago.
Ok, that’s good. I just haven’t seen them locally in a while. I talked to a LFS to me who does wholesaling to stores local and nearby states and he mentioned a flat pack shortage and he can’t get them, just cubes.

Idk just what he said.

My LFS said they have not been able to get PE Mysis for about 4 month due to some sort of issue with the lake in Canada. Have no way of verifying this, but I do know that the cubes I’ve been getting are SERIOUSLY watered down.

I rinse my PE before feeding, and what used to take 2 oz of produce to feed my tanks now takes an entire 4 oz blister pack.

I agree the cubes are watered down and the Mysis are mostly tiny compared to the flat packs previously. Idk if the cubes were always different from the flat packs.

I did find 2 8oz packs Thursday. The lfs owner/wholesaler still says he unable to get supply from PE.

Ps to everyone, if you use and have PE mysis flat packs at your LFS in stock, I’d suggest you get a pack or two

I’ve temporarily switched to Hikari 16oz Jumbo and Normal Mysis in the meantime.

I just miss the 40oz PE Flatpak
