My fellow reef enthusiasts, (I like fellow reefers better, I think lol)
I'd like to introduce you to my peacock shrimp gobies.
Aren't they adorable? They are ready to find a new home!
These gobies are easy to care for. They thrive in a well-established aquarium that provides plenty of hiding spaces. Thankfully, they are not picky eaters; mine enjoy pellets and occasionally have mysis shrimp as a treat.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the peacock goby is its symbiotic relationship with pistol shrimp. In the wild, the shrimp digs and maintains a burrow that serves as shelter for both the shrimp and the goby. The goby, with its excellent eyesight, acts as a lookout for predators, while the shrimp uses its digging skills to keep their shared home in good condition. Pretty cool, right?
