Hey all I just was out on the ocean for vacation and saw the perfect ocean flow on anemones. Now I want to make that happen in my IM 20 gallon lagoon. I have the two spouts and am curious how you all got that awesome side to side flow. I’d prefer no wavemakers as it is a nem only tank but it may be needed

You can’t get side to side flow with just to return spouts.

You need two powerheads on each side of the tank for a synced waterflow

Dang that is what I was worried about. I don’t want to have to have the powerheads interrupting the view/ chopping up nems. So I guess I’ll go with the best I can

IM makes a 20 gallon long and a 25 gallon lagoon. I have the 25 lagoon. You should at least consider some Random Flow Generators for your return nozzle(s). I really like the ones from Vivid Creative Aquatics, who's a member here at R2R, and usually available to help if needed.

I believe that these RFA's and a decent return pump would be enough flow for a softy tank, and likely provide enough flow for your anemones.

You could also look into circ pumps like the EcoTech VorTech pumps that are a bit pricy, but they keep the cables out of the tank, and arguably offer the best look for circ pumps. There are some less expensive Chinese knock off pumps available from Jeabo as well.

Good luck!

I have a lot of flow with the two pumps I have one being a mighty jet. But it’s mainly front to back. I want more side to side but with where the outputs are I can’t really turn them enough to go to the sides. But I’ll check the rfg
