I just ordered a peristaltic pump to use for ATO - primarily because of the distance to my ATO container.
I'm thinking this is overall a better solution than a submersible pump because (a) it's not submerged in my ATO tank and (b) a peristaltic pump cannot siphon.
I had one question regarding failsafe though... If the pump continues to try to push water to the point that my float safety trips and physically cuts off the ATO line, can a peristaltic pump push past that and force the float out of its way? It seems to me with enough force, the water could effectively force its way past the failsafe, but maybe not.

Think in terms of trying to block a dosing pump while it's running. Will the dosing pump win or will the physical blockage stop the flow?

According to the float valve on BRS it says that it has been tested up to 100psi. Knowing what pump you are going to be using would help, but I don't believe hobby grade pumps put out close to that kind of pressure.
