Awesome Pete. You know that aluminum stuff can cause all kinds of issues. :D I use it as well, and make sure not to tumble it, just rinse and plop in an HOB filter.

Yep, I nuked all of my acro last September by using too much.

I'm so frustrated at this tank right now. The more I feed it the stronger the nutrient export is. I'm feeding three times a day with rods original and once or twice a night with coral frenzy or reef roids.... This is what it gets me

About a week ago my phosphate checker started showing phosphates. So I used about 2tbsp phosphate sponge for about 24 hours and it seems to be in check.

I really don't know what to do about the nitrates. Maybe I need to start dosing nitrate or get more fish.

Pete everything looks really great, why are you concerned? Do you think you can get more color? Excuse me if I missed the explanation.

Not more color, but trying to keep the colors I have been able to pull out. I had really bad colors for the first year when I had 0 nitrates. I moved the tank and the nitrate went up to 1 ppm and the colors were drastically improved.

0ppm

After 1 month 0.5ppm-1ppm

Last Halloween the kids got some LED finger lights. Some are red, some are green, some are blue. Of course I confiscated the blue ones for personal use haha. I use them to look at the tank at night to see more color pop. They sure have a great actinic color to them and really bring out the colors you can't see during the day with t5. Here's my Yuma under the spotlight

Thanks. These LED lights really do bring out certain colors. They are only 50 cents too!

It really is an amazing Yuma though. Something the LED didn't bring out is the yellow mixed in. Here she is under no tank lighting, only ambient sunlight in the room

Well, I was spot feeding this morning and the Cali tort wasn't in it's spot. It fell into a chalice, so I'm sure it's beat up pretty bad.... Just waiting for the lights to come on and see if it's even going to be salvageable.
