Backstory:
I started in a 72 Gallon bowfront and didnt know to clean my rocks before diving into it all. Fastforward 2 years and I am now in a IM 200 Gallon EXT using those same rocks (obviously with a lot more rock work as well. Since then whenever I get dry rock I always put it through the clean process with diluted bleach and all of that. I just switched from a Red Sea 525XL (110 Gallon) to this tank a few weeks ago and phosphates were high right away so I am assuming its bound to the rocks as I used all new sand.
My phosphates have always been VERY high, like 1.0+ high which the fish do not mind and I have never had an algae issue either. I have tried to keep corals and they just slowly die out except for a few that are still going strong (large Goni, elegance, zoa's).
I would like to start keeping corals so Im looking at Phosphate E by Brightwell which I already have a bottle.
I have a Versa doser open up to start dosing this but I am just hesitant because I do not want to harm my fish (I have a tang gang).
I am guessing I have around 225-250 gallons of water between the display and sump (tank is 200g, sump is around 70g full).
1. Do I dose with a dosing pump?
2. Where do I dose into? Skimmer neck with a dosing tube on a schedule?
3. How much do I dose, I do not want to harm my fish.
4. Do I dilute it and if so how much?
I used the calculator and it said if I wanted to go from 1.0 to .01 it would be 25.3 ML at 50% of recommended but I am not sure how to go about this as I do not want to harm my fish.
