Hello people, my phosphate has been stuck at 0, I dose 0.1ppm of phos a day and I’ve been feeding heavier and have been feeding reef roids, but I can’t get my phosphate up whatever I do because a nuisance algae, hair algae, instantly consumes it. I’m not sure what to do.

Algae consumes nutrients and you are dosing nutrients thereby feeding the algae. The algae will never go away as long as you feed it IMO. IMO you can’t trust the test kit when you have an algae problem. Solve the algae problem first then take care of the corals.

👍 I’ll go the natural way trying to take it out. I’ve added astrea snails and now my rock has a bald spot where the hair was, will add more snails and do more manual removal. I think the main cause is I only have 2 fish in my 40 gal system, that being a clown and a firefish. I’ll increase the bioloads and feedings as well.
