Phosphates were 0.50 ppm, reduced them 0.22.

I finally picked up a Hanna Phosphate checker. Measured phosphates at 0.50 ppm. After replacing my gfo out of my two little fishes phosban 150 and 10% water change, I was able to reduce them to 0.22 ppm.

That makes sense. If phosphate does not drop further, the GFO may need replacing again. :)

OK, what would be a good target level of phosphates? I have a 220 Gallon Reef tank Sps, Lps, and softies. Iam also running a Kalk Reactor. I read that ocean levels are .0005.

I generally recommend about 0.02 ppm.

Let's say that I couldn't get levels to that level. You recommend another Reactor. I have a two little fishes 150 phosban Reactor on it now with 289 gallons of total water volume.

Replacing the GFO more often is usually easier than getting a second reactor. It sounds like it is coming down nicely, and the water change didn't contribute much to the drop.
