It's a little goofy because my center light can't be controlled via app.
Your greens are already popping more.
Is there ambient light in the room? Your room should be completely dark except for the tank. I take my pics usually at night, when there’s no light from any windows, and all room lights are off also

If you can get that center light in blue only, and have the room dark, this will be the best setup for photos

I think the room is dark enough. I'll try and do the center one.

Well, random pics so here’s to our new 40 gallon breeder tank build that I’ve just added an orange ocellaris and yellow Clarkii to today. Almost finished with the cabinetry. Like two more doors on opposite side and my soft close assembly’s then taking doors back off to finish painting and bevel corners. Also I built my own drop in aio and turned it into a peninsula style aquarium. And qt in the bottom for small-medium size additions and corals for the future additions. Everything except the tank and pumps were built by hand one piece at a time over the past few weeks.

Whatever this is
That. I call that my rainbow pain in the A**

I saw the mother colony and the frag was expensive. Very expensive. Then the price dropped and I impulse bought one to grow out. it’s super sensitive. And it was shipped to me and died overnight. It’s was crazy. It was like RTN on a LPS. The seller replaced it and sent another. That’s the one i have now. If I touch it or move it, it stays closed for days.

It does whatever the hell it wants. Some days it opens. Some days it’s completely retracted. Sometimes it’s partially open. I can’t figure out any placement that affects anything. High. Low. Medium flow. Low flow. Nothing seems to really matter. It does what it wants. I have several goni, and it doesn’t behave like any of them. All my goni open in day and close up at night. This guy doesn’t even start to open until after 9pm. My best photos are from the middle of the night, complete darkness, and then I turn the lights on to see what it’s doing.

Oh and it’s a super slow grower. The seller warned me about that. But it has consistently grown and encrust more and more over the last few months. This coral is like a LPS with SPS characteristics. I am thinking it’s using energy to encrust a base, and occasionally extends to get light and food, then goes back to retracting and focusing on encrusting it’s base. The mother colony is fully extended all day. So I’m thinking once this grow out tile is covered it will then start being extended all the time

I know what everyone’s thinking. It’s a gonipora. Seller insisted to me it’s not a gonipora. I didn’t believe them. I bought it and after owning it and several gonipora - I conclude it’s not a goni lol. It possibly is a bernardapora.

And as for this exact guy and it’s name / history…that’s a whole story that’s almost unbelievable and I’ve already typed a novel

I think you just described any acro that costs more than 80$.

I feel like the more expensive a coral is the harder to keep it is.
