Hi Guys:
I have a tank 48"x24"x24", I use (2) 250w 20,000k Radium as main lights and (2) Giesseman Actinic+ T-5 and a Reef Brite Led Strip Bar as supplementary lights.
I want to know about the optimal Metal Halides photoperiod for my SPS dominant tank.
Thanks

Eric

I have a standard 90 (48"x18"x24"tall) SPS dominated BB tank. I run (2) 250w 20K Radiums in lumen bright reflectors for 6 hours, Blue + and Purple + T5s for 10 hours and a strip of LEDs for 14 hours.

For most SPS tanks, 6 hours of strong halide light is typically enough. Some run it much longer (and with great success I might add). However, most run around 6 hours (and then supplement with T5, VHO, or LED).

I doubt that your LED's do much to your tank with the T5's and the Radiums. I would run the LED's (assuming they are all blue) for an hour, bump on the T5's in addition for 1-2 hours, Run just the Radiums for 6 hours, and then opposite for sunset simulation. Just my two cents.
