Picasso clownfish breeders

looking for a pair from a breeder. any good suggestions. I know of clownfish shop in kansas city. figured id ask on here since the guy whom i used to deal with no longer sells.

They can but only 10 hours id rather go pick them out and view his setup. Make sure its about quality of fish etc. Plan on 15 years like my last pair. I'm a little picky lol

if you need help picking some out, I've got a good eye. That being said not many of the big hatcheries are raising good picasso. Sustainable aquatics has some decent ones. I think best bet could be to find a breeder to your point..

If you're able to find any from Bali Aquarich -- meaning from them, not offspring of a BA pair--they tend to have less defects (usually attributed to the fact they they're raised in seawater).

Didn't ask where parents came from. Far as price waiting to hear myself. We emailed back and forth and he has been sending me vids to chose from. Been great to deal with

went and visited bret theclownfishshop in kansas city. I went to work at 7:30 yesterday and got off at noon drove the 4.5 hour drive one way made it a long day. I got home at 10pm and acclimated my new pair to the tank. He has a nice setup with some beautiful breeding pairs. I did ask where the parents came from and they where just from his local fish shop. Look to have some cquest in them. I didnt take any pictures as i only spent 30-45 min at his place plus i felt it a bit rude to ask. Anemones everywhere and all the babies taking full advantage of them.

All in all A+ experience and wouldnt hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for home bred fish.

Glad he followed up with you! I reached out to him a few months ago. He said he'd send me some vids of cheek spot or helmet picassos (forgot which ones I asked about) but never heard back from him. That's pretty awesome you are close enough to visit in person.

I ended up going with some divincis from somewhere else. But still kind of wish I kept searching for picassos. They used to be everywhere but now all my LFS carry "misbars" that are sold as premium picassos. Kind of disappointing.

10 hour round trip to get them we tried to ship them but ups delayed it. Whole fiasco that was out of our hands. I'd definitely buy from him again. Both mine are still in the who's who stage.
