Hello, i recently saw that my lfs had a bat fish in for 200$, I was wondering what tank mates are good for them if any, also what size tank would be good for them, and are they overly aggressive(mainly worried about other fish as I probably won’t have many if any inverts in the batfishes tank) thank you

They get pretty massive so a minimum of 180 gallons would be good for them. They also get along with most fish. But unless they are captive bred they are extremely hard to care for. They are very picky eaters, and just don’t do well in captivity.

They also aren’t reef safe.

Not sure about overall care but it would need to be a fish only tank. You would also probably need a 300-400 gallon tank at minimum. Batfish get very large.
