Our pistol shrimp and yellow watchman goby have been inseparable since we got them 3 months ago. We see them together quite often and noticed we haven't seen the shrimp in about a week but we kept hearing him so knew he was alive.

Well tonight, I was doing some spot feeding and noticed a long antenna in "cave" and then i heard the snap. It was the shrimp all by himself on the opposite side of the tank. The goby isn't freaking out, still guards the other den and all seems normal.

What is going on? Has anyone ever seen the two paired friends "divorce"?

Yes, I did, Yes I did.
My goby/shrimp pair separated for few days and then reunited.
It's possible that shrimp has molted and is hiding now.
