Hello,

I think my plate coral is dying. It is shedding and losing its texture. Anyone know for sure?? Everything else in the tank is looking great. I bought this almost a month ago and there was some off coloring on it in a few spots, which I didn't notice at the LFS.

45 gal. tank
nitrates 10
alkalinity 9
calcium 400
nitrite 0
phosphate 0
Ammonia 0

Thanks

It’s dying. Leave it in there and it may produce a bunch of babies. :)

That was rapid tissue necrosis. Keep it in the system though, they can start producing offspring from a skeleton that appears totally lifeless.
I threw it out, but it was like this for two whole days. I was scared it would ruin the tank.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
