I need to make calibration solution for these two different instruments and just want conformation that one solution will not work on both. Could someone just confirm that a pinpoint meter needs conductivity solution while the refractometer needs refractometer solution made up using mixing instructions below?

Refractometer calibration solution = 53.0 mS
3.65 grams Morton salt to 96.35 grams purified freshwater

For Pinpoint meter (conductivity solution) = 53.0 mS
6.20 grams Morton salt to 182 grams purified freshwater

Although the solutions are slightly different, they will both calibrate their instrument to 35 ppt, right?

Thanks!

The refractometer solution is what I made for my refractometer. I’ve never made the conductivity standard since I don’t have a meter.

I don’t understand the science but the refrac solution seems to be working for me.
