Can someone help me ID this?

I’ve been observing my tank everyday and noticed these small brown spots on my frogspawn just now.

I’m hoping they aren’t vermetid snails as I just restarted my tank due to an infestation of them.

when i try to scrape it off, it seems to be burrows deep into the skeleton. Typically snail snails you can pry or scrape off..

I’m not sure what I’m looking at but I don’t see vermatid snails. I agree they are a pain. I just live with them.

Could be a type of worm, but not vermetid. They grow a stationary shell to live in. Sadly, i don't know what's living in your frogspawn.

If it looks like the guys in this pic, some of them eat corals.

So I took it out the water and put some small pliers to it. There’s no signs of vermetid but those brown spots are actually looking like holes. If I apply a bit of pressure, I can actually scrape off a bit of the skeleton.. what’s going on?

Whatever it is, it's far too small to be able to ID without more magnification. I'd quit messing with it and let it be. If they get bigger then maybe post some more pics for help with an ID.

Hey did you ever figure out what those were? Pretty sure I have those on my hammer coral as well but can’t get a response on the thread I created

I did not find out what it is.. The frogspawn still seems to be alive and doing OK though. It still has not split..
