I bought this piece from a small LFS, but no idea what it is.

Could be sun coral, could be dendrophyllia, either are non photosynthetic LPS, so their polyps should come out when the lights start getting dim and they'll need some kind of meaty food (or a lot of fine particulate.)

In mature systems, they may be able to hold on without feedings, but they definitely won't grow, and you probably want it in shade (under an overhang or something can be fun), because it doesn't use the light and would have to compete less with stuff that does.
