I can't offer u much from the parenting perspective, but I was a child with a single mother who as u say " worked to much".

Your children may not show it now but keep it together, take care of the the best way u can. Give them the direction and guidance they need. Be their rock and they will appreciate more than words can express as I do for my mother who worked her *** off and gave me the morals and foundation to make me who I am.

It will tough, you will make mistakes..... But cut yourself some slack. U have two little treasures that depend on you. Good luck

I have been every night but these poor girls idk I just don't know what to do

Keep it up. He loves you, your girls and us all.

I have a little 2 year old girl and I try my best to make everyday her day. All we can do is love them with everything we got and don't stop.

We are here for you too buddy. I'm sorry you're going through this. Best keep your head up. The best advice I got during a very hard time in my life was " God never gives you more than you can bare".

One of the best things that you can do is be there for them. Be their rock. Let them know they can talk you to and just listen to them. How old are your daughters? One thing that you can do is try to get them involved in some type of activity that they enjoy to do. It could be something that the three of you could do. My mom did this with my siblings and me when she was going through a messy divorce with my dad. I know it's not the same situation, but it helped me a lot.

I'm sympathetic to what you are going through. I was a single dad with two boys for nine years. More if you count the two years my youngest just lived with me lately. The best thing you could do is find a church family and depend on The Lord to get you through. But putting that aside, I do have a couple suggestions: One, immediately file for sole protective custody of your girls. Do it now! Although some states are coming around to giving dads a little bit of rights, don't trust on it. Women usually win - no matter how messed up they are. Two, get that woman out of your life and move on. Three, hold your head up and be the strong one in the family. Quit moping around; it only makes matters worse for your girls. Four, look on the bright side. Yes, there is always a bright side. And, letting God love you, because he already does, will help you to see how fortunate you really are. I wish you the best and will be praying that you find the strength in the Lord I've been telling you about.

Have faith in god, be strong. The best thing you can do is be strong for your children. If they see you crumble, then they will too. I can't imagine what you're going through but all I can say is they need someone to be there to comfort them and hold them in a difficult time like this. Stay strong

I feel like such a horrible father because I just cant make every thing just perfect for them

im sorry but coming from me i'm 21 years of age i no i don't have experience in the father field but i have been in your girls spot . my mother past when i was 11. my father has left me so many times due to drugs and violence and prison, there is a void in me that still is not met in my life and i thrive for it everyday. what your doing right no is the best thing you can do for your girls, your being a good father and being with them and trying your hardest. they will see that when the time is right, i don't no how old they are but i do understand that pain they are having, when someone walks out on you that you love it puts you in a state as what the heck am i doing wrong. or why does this happen to me. but i hope the best of all man. every night i always think to my self why me why all these promises and nothing to come. but in the end, there is other people that i no can fill a little bit of that void and that void in your story should be you copeing with your girls and letting them no everything is going to be okay and daddy is here for you.

Think positive and think of this way.....

An arrow can only be shot by pulling backward, so when life is dragging you back with difficulties, just imagine that it's going to launch you into something great.

Keep up, you are a wonderful dad.

Kids are pretty resilient, stronger than we give them credit for. I would rather the mother stay away and keep the drugs away from them.
It would help alot if they have plenty of family support, especially from grannys that can act as mother figures to them.

This is terrible and such a common problem in society today:(. My parents were divorced when I was 2 due to my father having a major drug problem. He and I reconnected after 26 years and he died 2 years later unexpectedly. I still have an aversion to authority and "daddy" issues today however not nearly as bad as I should.

My mother was/is an excellent parent and raised me with morals, values, ethics, etc...I vowed I'd never be like my dad BUT in my teenage years and into adulthood ended up exactly like him:( my life has changed drastically and changes have been made over the last 8 years.

What I didn't know is that my dad and I both had/have a disease and did what we had to do to feed it. I didn't have a choice as it was not a moral issue. It is a disease that centers in the mind and an obsession and physical craving that only a spiritual experience can conquer.

I'd recommend a program of action for you and your children along with turning to god for help. Take then to alateen and ou yourself go to alanon. It will help you and your children better cope and understand what she is going through and why she keeps doing what she's doing. Not that ANY of it is justified! Tell her she needs aa and na. If she doesn't go then don't let her back because she will keep doing the same thing over and over. If she does go tell her to get a sponsor, home group, and work the 12 steps of recovery. If she doesn't do that don't let her back either.

You have a long road and wish u the best of luck my friend!

So glad to hear you are feeling better. All the advice is wonderful! I agree that you should find a good church family where your girls can find good female role models. Whether it be Sunday school, children's church, or bible study leaders, I have found that in my own church, they have stuck closer to me than even my own family! You will not find more care and nurturing than from those who are truly servants of Christ! And the most important thing you can pass on to your children is not an inheritance but an eternity! God bless! And may He lead you in all your paths!
