Is there a telltale feature that gives it away as being a Lepto vs. Pavona? I'm not disputing you, I'd like to learn how to tell the difference because it looks like a Pavona to me.

You could indeed be correct. :)

At first glance it looked Leptoseris to me, but now that I look again I can see how it could be Pavona.

As for distinguishing the difference, I am going to let member @evolved take a stab at that.

It is a beautiful piece.
