Plumbing in the rollermat

I am trying to get my tank plumbed before going out of town for work..does my drain line need to drop 1/4" every 1'...or does it even matter...i am regulating the flow with a gate valve

I have a rollermat. I think you should avoid straight 90 degree angles. Keep plenty of time to fine toon the flow. Too much any you will go through a roll in one night. Too little and it will backup and not trigger the switch.
