Plumbing - Small Leak

I just converted my plumbing to PCV. Everything seems to be going good and my dorso finally stopped making the toilet flushing noise!

However, I noticed some water at the bulkhead. I didn’t glue that in as the connections for the drain are really tight. Do you think gluing it will take care of the leak?

Yes.

Your brave not to glue things in though.
Overtime the vibrations of the system will work it loose I fear, no matter how tight it fits.
This could spell disaster and will happen when your away or pressed for time.
It is common not to glue things up IN the return overflow box.
But the plumbing under the tank is a bad bad idea.

Yes, take it out prime it and glue it. Water is tricky and will find the smallest areas to leak from. You'll save yourself in the future.

Thanks. I’ll take care of that now. Everything else is glued in tight except the connection to the sump bulkhead. I thought you weren’t supposed to prime the bulkhead as it’s not PVC?

I just set up another tank and had same issue. I shut down pump, cleaned with alcohol and sealed with 5 applications of aquarium sealant. % weeks and no leaks.
THIS IS NOT THE PROPER WAY TO DO IT . . BUT. . . IT WORKS !!

There is glue that bonds ABS to PVC, though I have a small bottle I have never used it. I just use regular old PVC glue.
I also never use primer.
I have never had a leak.

Just glued it without any primer. Have the union back in place. I’ll give it 5-10 minutes to cure and turn the pump back on. Fingers crossed!
