Hello all,

As the subject line says, I'm trying to make some small upgrades to my boy's tank - mostly for ease of use and overall better conditions for the marine life. I've found that the included light has no ramp up or down, which I've read can very much stress what's below it. I'm also unsure as to the type of light it is - no clear information on website or box. The included 10W heater, appears to be undersized for my 5gal tank, and is constantly overshooting the temp before slowly coming back down. I ended up removing it all together, and am just keeping a closer eye on my digital temp probe. Any other change outs you guys would recommend? As always, thank you all in advance for stopping by to help a newbie out. Cheers!

Not sure the light is going to stress fish, corals and photosynthetic stuff maybe, but nobody “needs” a ramp up, it just looks great to humans.

10 watts for a 5g is to small, your looking at 3-5 watts per gallon….

Either 25 watt or 2-10 watts better. But I’d put them on an INKBIRD wifi controller so if they fail on, nobody gets fried.

Ensure everything is plugged into a GFCI plug so you don’t get fried.

If you don’t use an ATO, this would be a fantastic improvement to a 5g tank. Keeps salinity perfect and that’s important to fish.
