Hi,

Can anyone ID this coral for me please? Does it look like a Pocillopora? Grow pretty fast, and reproduces in the tank. Found some small growths of it elsewhere on the rock.

Thanks!

Correct ID.

This coral will drop polyps all over the tank. IMO not a coral I would introduce to my tanks.

That is exactly what is happening! :') such a lovely coral though! Starting to pop up everywhere....
you think it's lovely now!

Just wait until you have to scrape it off of rocks to make room for other coral :grinning-squinting-face:

That's where I'm at now. Using kalkwasser to kill thr smaller growths. I suppose the only real solution here is to remove it entirely. I feel bad killing it :( but has to be done.

Never had a problem with it spreading like crazy tbh, it think it could be due to predators eating the planula before it has a chance to settle and grow.

That said, if you are willing to get rid of it - don’t kill it! You can trade it in with your LFS and get some credit towards other corals, or trade/sell it to another reefer.
