I got mine as Polletti Yellow Tips from @Battlecorals, but it looks exactly the same as what others call Palletta Tricolor. First, are Polletti and Palletta different people? Are these different corals?

I find the similarities in the names and the look of the corals to be quite the coincidence?

Frag of yellow tip in front of tricolor lol...

The yellow tip at least in my tank has a more bluish base. It's similar to the wwc yellow tip but the wwc piece is greener.[/URL]

So mine is the Polletti Yellow Tips from BC, and looks exactly like yours.

I have both versions the all blue and the one with the green.

The Paletta tri color and the WWC yellow tip look the same to me from the pictures.

This is WWC's picture of their yellow tip---

Maybe I'm confused. The ones I posted are the Tricolor stag and Polleti yellow tip. There is also a WWC yellow tip, that is similar in growth form to the Polleti, but in my tank the Polleti is more bluish in the base. The tricolor stag which is the first one I posted a pic of is TOTALLY different from the other 2.

In this pic you can see my tricolor stag colony in the background and the Polleti is the bluish looking stag in front. Totally different structure, although my Polleti yellow tip does not grow, LOL! The other one is a weed!

Yes, sorry if I confused you..........I agree exactly with what you're saying. I don't have the Tricolor..........I was looking at the color scheme from your picture that made me mention that. The first picture didn't look like a stag.

When my Polettti was small it looked exactly like your picture. My guess would be Poletti and WWC yellow tip are both A austera..........growh and coralite structure look the same.

Absolutely agree austera for sure on both yellow tips. The tricolor stag doesn't look like a true stag but that's the name that stuck I guess, it's definitely not a valida.

You guys have me a bit confused now, which is easy to do.

I have assumed this was paletta's tri-color (long story, I got it as Jose's candlelight from friend who said it came from Jose years ago, I then communicated with Jose Casas who said no, it was palettas tricolor).

I agree the yellow tip is an austera and .y favorite at that. I find most are the same given different lighting they will be more blue or green st the base color. Also the yellow tips are more vibrant with certain lighting.
