Hey Guys,

Anybody using PolypLab's Genesis rock?

On their website they claim that the product reduces PO4. Are there any user reviews that confirm/attest to this?

Thanks for any empirical user info., that you can provide.

It’s overpriced imo. You can find similar stones online for a fraction of the price. I think for this one, you are paying for the polyp lab name.

Having said that. I have one genesis rock and 6 of these that cost me less that half of the 1 polyp lab.

Amazon product

What seemed to help me the most was buying some actual live rock.

True. Get ocean live rock.

I have a space in my sump that I couldn't get live rock to fit so I bought the Genesis as an experiment. The 8 blocks fit perfectly. You can see the Genesis in the center bottom of the photo.

Same as Marine pure but not as frigile. Need to be seeded with bacteria or placed in a well established tank sp bacteria will populate. Where are some reviews on BRS TV

Even if it bound phosphate it would quickly hit the limit

What’s the goal other than just a place for nitrifying bacteria?
Between nutrients, chemistry, and the bacteria biome I like to research and place emphasis on the bacterial side of things in terms of reef-keeping, as well as, my freshwater pursuits.

Was looking into the benefits of Polyplab and the possibilities of their product. The PO4 claim caught my eye, though I haven't seen (or read) much detail on the how.

Right now, my current PO4 controls are GFO and a half-drop of lanthanum into the DT about every other day.

Theoretically it adds surface area for more biofiltration? And if it disintegrates, does it basically becomes sand?

Who said the the Polylab disintegrates? It's not suppose to. The Marine Pure plates will become mush after 4 years.
