Pom Pom crab death

Can someone give me some insight into this? I got a Pom Pom crab and after a week he mysteriously died.

I temp floated the bag then drip acclimated for about 40 minutes. After releasing him into the tank, He stayed in one spot the whole time I had him but I did see him catch some food and eat it. He molted about 4 days into me having him and kept both anemones. Then one morning I wake up and see him upside down, but moving. I didn’t have time to deal with it since I was going to be late for work so I thought I would handle it on my lunch break. He was still twitching then so I didn’t take him out again, thinking maybe he was molting. At 5 that day he was still upside down and twitching. I finally took him out and put him out of his misery.
I hope the video shows up. If not, it’s just a short video of him upside down and twitching. He lost his anemones at this point.

I think it was a stress induced death.
I am wondering if you have to much of something in your tank that is not so good for crabs?
Do you have other inverts and are they fine?

New inverts can be touchy. Did you buy it at the lfs or was it shipped?

Well, nitrite is toxic and should always be 0. That's not going to help anything.

I have lots of hermits and snails and a 9 year old serpent star that is banished to the sump because I thought he was killing my other inverts. Also have 5 anemones that are doing well. Any other invert I have tried adding hasn’t made it. Not really sure what I’m doing wrong. Recently did a tank move where I inspected every rock for any hitchhikers or any pollutant that may have gotten in the tank. Can’t find anything

I know, I just did a tank upgrade and have lots of new rock, I think I might have a mini-cycle going on

Measure salinity of lfs water in bag to determine acclimation time.
Its always a surprise.

Inverts are harder than fish or corals in this respect. Imo.

Probably that mini-cycle combined with the stress of being in a new tank, and potential prior stresses before arriving at the LFS, took the little guy out. Do lots of water changes until the cycle ends.
