I have a bit of a problem with flow in this tank (21.4 Gal with rear filter, cube). I'm aiming for a mix of LPS and Soft Corals at the end of the day. I'll be changing out the light for an AI Hydra Edge 44 tomorrow, and am very much considering picking up a new wavemaker/powerhead. As you can see, I have a green hairy mushroom coral in the tank but I'm concerned because anywhere I put it, it feels like the flow is too high and it retracts a bunch and won't come out fully again unless it is moved. Even where it is rn it doesn't want to extend all the way. The tank currently has a Sicce 1000 powerhead but as I said, I'm thinking of swapping it out with one that has variable flow control so that I can try to lower the flow enough for the mushroom to actually extend all the way and maybe get the benefit of more randomized flow at the same time. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good powerhead that wouldn't break the bank and that would still work best for the tank?
