I recently purchased a 1.5" long puffer. He has been in my 20 gallon QT tank for about 2 weeks now and has been eating regularly. I just walked in and looked down and saw him pressed up against the intake of the powerhead. I have closed it up so it is just a very small hole and somehow his eye got sucked into it. I turned it off completely and he resumed swimming normally, with his eye budged out slightly. What do you guys suggest I do to help/treat him?

Epsom salt. Since you know it is an injury this may help.

Here are @Humblefish directions for product use and dosage.

Epsom Salt: Treats eye and other injuries. Popeye in one eye usually means injury, but popeye in both eyes usually denotes a bacterial infection requiring antibiotic treatment. Cloudy eye can be a bacterial infection or flukes.

How To Treat - 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of aquarium water. Repeat only once, if necessary. Use only “USP” grade Epsom salt.

Making aqua concoctions: Have you ever tried the Reef Moonshiner Method?
