Anyone have thoughts on the Type of (what I believe is) Dino? Its larger than most the ones Ive seen before and didn't seem to really be moving around at all.

Looks like prorocentrum to me. Also have some diatoms which is good.

Thoughts on getting rid of them. Its a tank I throw my scrap corals in... no fish, a couple hermit and a cleaner shrimp is all thats in there. I was thinking H2O2..... possible black out?

I don't think a black out would help. H2O2 can be helpful, dosing silicates to produce a diatom bloom can help, dosing phyto can help. Keep NO3 and PO4 up (I like 5-10 and 0.06-0.12 respectively). UV doesn't help with this kind.

@saltyhog I do have some phyto I just got the other day for my main tank... I''ll start putting some in this one too. what will I be looking for and how much as far as dosing silicates ~40gal water volume
