For a few months now I've had random marks show up around the head area of my surgeonfish that heals by the end of the day but reappear every other morning. Originally I thought it was a result of it and my six line but even now I see them square off but nobody ever makes a move then I thought about the fact that most of my rock came from tbs and when I order from them. I select "if it's on the rock it stays on the rock" which did score me a mantis shrimp but I'm starting to think there's a parasitic isopod in town and I don't how to verify it or how to go about removal. The fish eats fine and is in good health but I feel as if somethings going on at night.

Does the fish sleep somewhere that can be seen after lights out? See if you can catch what's going on while the fish is sleeping

That's the weird thing when I first got it out 100% slept in the left rear of the tank behind the rocks now at night I catch it under an overhang clearly awake. I try not to bother it but may have to
