Hi everyone,
I know there are a 1000 of these but what would you say this is? I currently have 5 fish in a 55 gallon barebottom QT running chloroquine phosphate and furan 2. Only the vlamingi is infected this bad, the rest have minimal spots and im on day 9 of the treatment. He actually didnt look this bad in the display...

It is not always possible to tell velvet from severe ich in just a photo. Ich is much more common, and velvet always shows rapid breathing sooner than ich does.
What dose of chloroquine are you using?
Seems like it’s right eye is sunken?

Right eye is actually missing from an earlier accident. Im currently dosing the 80mg/gallon for the cp, im wondering if these are just exit holes from the velvet? Its odd because i dont see this on the other fish

That’s about 20 mg/l for the CP. I stopped dosing that high because I was seeing toxic reactions. 15 mg/l is the dose most people use now. This is for pure CP though, no binder.
If the tang isn’t breathing fast, and since the other fish don’t have the same symptom, it could be mucus plugs that develop in tangs sometimes as a response to skin issues. Take a look in the library section here for my article on mucus.
