Post Ammonia spike issue

First time poster, long time lurker. I've tried to search for my issue but haven't really found anything that matches with what I'm experiencing so I'm reaching out. So I have a 9 month Fluval Evo 13.5, I recently did a 40% water change and cleaned the filter, pump and basic every day cleaning. The next day I noticed that the tank was getting a little cloudy and the turbo snail was acting different than the usual. I come home from work and the tank was very cloudy and noticed that the turbo snail was dead and so was my red ruby dragonette, clown fish wasn't looking so hot and the corals were closed. Im assuming I caused a massive ammonia spike via disruption

I immediately rescue the clown, and did a complete 100% water change, new filter, new chemi pure and hoped for the best. The following day the clown died and so did the Xenia and the Goni. Its been about 2 weeks since the event and the tank has cycled and have added new inverts to hep with keeping the ammonia down. The issue I am having is that my inverts aren't active as they used to be before the event, the GSP and Zoa's are closed still and looks like hair algae is developing on the rocks.

Any idea whats going on with the corals and inverts?

Clown
Ruby Red Dragonette
8 red hermits
1 turbo snail.

Inhabitants (post event):
5 red hermits
1 conch
1 turbo snail
1 trochus snail

Corals (All frags):
Zoas, GPS, Xenia, Goni.

Equipment:
Nicrew Hyper reef 30 @ 60white/40blue (8hour interval)
Decent powerhead
Decent filterpump
Chemi Pure Elite
Filter (filter floss)
Heater @ 81F

Params (tested via home & LFS)
PH: 8.2
Temp: 82F
Ammonia: 0
Phosphate: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5ppm
Calcium: 420ppm
Mag: 1320
DKH: 9
Salinity: .026

Dosing:
1.0ml of Red Sea AB (3 times a week)
Kent Lugol's Solution at 1/4 drop for 10 gallon water volume (1 month)

Im going to say it was not an ammonia issue. It was a bacterial bloom that zapped all the oxygen out of the water.

Ammonia issues do not precede fish loss, fish loss to disease from skipping fallow and quarantine precedes an ammonia spike


also agreed, any big snail loss in a nano and or bacterial bloom/o2 will be another potential cause, but not free ammonia before losses in a four month tank even with 100% water changes every morning for two weeks.

Would an air stone be the solution to this or what would you recommend?

Yes air stone, water changes ect... UV if it does not go away in a week .

Groovy, In regards to the hair algea thats growing. Should i let it be for a few days to help with oxygenation?
