Nice colony! I'll try and take a pic of mine in a bit. How long have you had yours? How many polyps you start with?

awesome, thank you. They are as pink in the centers, not a bad pic at all. I thought they were more like the scarface with different lighting. That pic shows the difference for sure...Thanks ALF

This grow out frag was started 12/29/2012, from two polyps and a nub my orignal colony was dying and i fragged off the sick ones and this is what they turned into. This frag has produced over 25+ polyps for me.

Nice! They grow pretty decent. Where do you have yours placed in your tank? I keep playing with placement trying to get the best coloration.

for me if i do not keep them on the sand bed the black will disappear, But they grow faster in high light with med flow.

for me the best coloration is to keep them on the bed with low flow.

Yea I've noticed the same thing. Do the mature polyps ever get more black to come in after or is it too late?

Waiting for the babies to grow up out of my polyp; then it'll be a 'colony' haha

Right!!, it is so weird once you have fully mature polyps they will throw nubs like crazy BUT the nubs take for ever to mature.

Seems like every time i go to frag it their is always a pup in the way.

the sand bed i think you will get the most black and the longer i keep them there the black is more pronounce but the day i saw them come form the ocean they had way more black in them so did the babies it must be a captive thing for the black to fade
