I'm running a 150 and 250 in the same tank; one on each side. I've got them connected up to an Apex - each with their own outlet. They are set up to run an alternating current pattern to 75% max:
Yet when I look at the power draw from the two pumps, I see a significant difference:
(The 150 is "RT" - the lighter color - while the 250 is "LFT" - the darker color.)
Both pumps were recently cleaned and reassembled using the same configuration of blades. Neither are obstructed in any way, so I doubt it's anything to do with their position in the tank.
It's obvious to me when I watch the tank that the 150 is clearly underperforming compared to the 250 as well.
I was under the impression that the 150 and 250 motors were the same; is that actually the case? As I move up to a bigger tank in the near future, I'm going to need both pumps operating at the same power levels. Will I need to replace the 150 with another 250 to get this, or is it possible that my 150 is faulty somehow?
The 150 is about a year-and-a-half old, running around 50-75% pulse most of that time. The 250 is months old. I can understand some degradation over that time, but more than a 50% loss in power draw seems excessive...?
