power management/controller board for a desktop tank

Hi Guys

my tank is currently on the kitchen bench (Waterbox 20) and I've slowly run out of power outlets and need to run another smaller power board to accommodate a few more power items

im currently running a power bar in the black container:

spaghetti:

top down:

the gadgets that i have with interfaces/displays are:

2 x Ai Nero 3 displays
1 x Ai Axis 40 displacy
1 x RedSea ATO+ controller
1 x RedSea Reef dose 4 box
1 x RedSea ReefNano Mat (no display - power only)
1 x inkbird heater control display
1 x Skimmer (no display - power only)
1 x Ai Prime (no display - power only)

nice to have on that side:
4 VOSS water dosing containers

my question is, I'm stumped for ideas on how best to clean it up and possibly add an second level to this with really only front on access.
i am not able to screw/drill into the wall so it makes any option challenging. also the dimensions are not of a standard fit so i would most likely have to fabricate what ever i end up going with that is freestanding.



I've considered:

plywood type open ended shelf (maybe the back or top can mount the ATO and reef dose)

IKEA SKÅDIS Pegboard but i dont know how i can actually make this stand up on its own and have heavy controllers and power boards attached to it

some type of shopfitting gondola shelf out of ply?

honeycomb board - this probably needs something to attach to as well

a consideration i need to figure out for what ever solution i choose. how do i get it in with the power point close to the wall? do i allow for that and shorten the width 1inch 25mm?

any ideas i would be greatly appreciate!

I would definitely look around for pegboards or honeycomb boards. The ones you sent you could probably mount into a wall using some nails and a drill. Do you have space under your tank? Or is it only beside. I would be concerned about water splashing out of the tank and hitting your power outlets.

Well, I currently am trying to rectify a very similar situation. What I did was purchase one of the rolling butcher block kitchen cabinets. They really are the perfect size for smaller tanks. You can move the tank wherever you want, when you want. Lowes and Home depot usually have them, I got mine used.
Next take a hole saw drill bit and figure out where you want the power plugs to go. Drill the cabinet and move everything inside. You can use the self or boards or pegs inside the cabinet. Just an idea. :-)

Do you have a 3D printer? If so, you can find the honeycomb files all over the place. This could be advantageous because you could print what you need and customize it to fit your needs.

If you have the files, several people on Etsy and elsewhere (maybe here at R2R) will do the 3D printing.

I was actually looking trying to decide if I could use it to redo my board. I hadn’t thought about using that kind of board to do it.

And yeah, there are lots of 3d printer owners on this site including myself.
