Plug your EB8 / EB4 or whatever powerbar you have into the UPS system.
Plug your Apex with 12v adapter (atleast 500ma) rating into non ups wall outlet

Under the outlets you DO NOT want on during a power outage put the following:
If Power Apex Off 000 Then OFF

This will turn off non critical equipment during power failure.

Unfortunately the power adapter is not compatible with the apex jr as it has no spot for one...

Yeah. I’m pretty sure. Not 100% positive. I’ve owned the JR and now the full apex and I didn’t have it on the jr and this is what it looks like on the full one.

You need to have the apex unit plugged into a wall outlet. You then need your EB8(32) plugged into the UPS. There is a flag to set apex to monitor power where it can detect a loss of power from the wall outlet and still see power to the EB8. There is code for detecting this situation. I went further and created virtual outlets based on another example I saw online - (my setup has three EB832, all with discreet power from different outlets connected to different breakers, etc... but you can get the idea. VO name is PwrNormal. From this outlet I can have different devices turn off when the PwrNormal is OFF so it doesn’t run down the UPS too fast. Keep in mind my home network is also with battery backups so the APEX can send an alert about power.

Set ON
If Power Apex Off 002 Then OFF
If Power EB832_Sump Off 002 Then OFF
If Power EB832_Tank Off 002 Then OFF
If Power EB832_Fuge Off 002 Then OFF
