weatherson posted this in our club forum. here is a CHEAP ($26) alarm dialer. calls up to two phone numbers in the event of a power failure or freeze/flood alarm depending on how you wire your inputs. (really anything that can be triggered on an input of some type.)

i can't believe how cheap this guys is! previously known cheap one was $200 on sale. they can sometimes be acquired on ebay for about $100-130... (like the sensaphone 1004 model for example)
for those following my new tank room thread, i'll be using something very similar to call me in the event of a tank flood or power failure. (i might even do some float switch level detectors to call me too!) my AC3 will also email me. but in the event of an ISP failure, this guy actually calls you on a POTS line. (kind of like an AC2 w/ modem attachment. but of course the AC2 won't email you on it's own...) if i hadn't purchased one already, i'd be tempted to get this one. heck, i might still get this one and ebay my 'expensive' model!!
at any rate, for $26 - man, ya just can't go wrong...
and btw, some home alarm companies will call you in the event of a power failure. so if you have an alarm service, check to see if you can add this to your account! mine does, but they won't call me in the event of a tank flooding... ha ha!
oh - and if you go the home alarm service route, ask if they'll call you immediatly, or if there's a time delay. or -- if they wait for the backup battery to die before calling you. that might not work if your alarm has like a 4 hour backup battery on it, heh!
