I have a 40gal tank that has a powerhead...of sorts. There is a pump in the sump, it is connected to a 1"dia hose and that hose is connected to a nozzle which pumps water into the tank.
Since I have had the tank, I have pointed the nozzle slightly upwards, so that the water flow breaks the surface of the water, thereby oxygenating the water (or so my rudimentary knowledge of science goes).
I hired a guy last week to clean my tank, because I was really busy with work.
I'm looking at my tank, and the nozzle is pointed slightly downwards, so that there is no water flow breaking the surface. It's completely flat.
Should I leave it like this?
