pros and cons of pre mixed water

pros and cons of mixing it yourself

i tried mixing myself when first got i to hobby 15 years ago and honestly the convienence of pre mixed for me seems worth it

I Imagine buying salt and mixing myself must be cheaper, and also I wouldnt like lugging heavy pails of water from the LFS to my home, which is a condo so parking is far. But, to each his own.

Two things for me....cost and knowing what I have. I make my own water and know that the TDS is zero. And I know the salt I'm using and how it mixes up.

BRS 5 stage system. Yes you can connect and disconnect if that is what you want to do. BRS system includes all the connections for different setups when you buy their system

Mixing station and RODI system make 10 gallon water change a 10 minute exercise - and I never lift an once of water.

And best tools to check salinity or what should i check

You need this whether you are mixing or not. Just because you buy pre mixed saltwater, you will need to check salinity daily to know how much rodi water you need to add each day. You will have evaporation of your tank saltwater

@muggle0981 lots to cover here but I’ll try to do it quickly. I have a 120G as my first tank, and started from scratch.

I bought the BRS 5 stage RODI Water Saver system. Water’s the most important element of the tank, so why leave control and consistency to someone else.

My mixing station is one 35G Brute and the RODI. Over the past year I’ve learned a lot about my water needs. Long story short, each week I make 5G RODI that I use for my ATO. My water changes vary between 15-25G. I don’t really store water, and didn’t find the need to use two brutes one for RODI and one for Saltwater.

Hanna salinity checker.

You can keep it simple if you want to.

Good luck!
