I just got a tank (maxspect dice).

It was pre owned.

It came with a big piece of rock, pump, heater, wave maker.

It was stored outside for about 4 days.

What do I need to do to make sure it’s getting a proper fresh start?

I cleaned it in shower today. Do I have to clean everything else thoroughly?

White vinegar is our friend when it comes to cleaning old equipment.

Do it right the first time and give it a thorough cleaning.

Congrats on the new (to you) tank!

When I get a used system I try to clean everything up as best as I can. If you're seeing mineral deposits, you can try a vinegar or citric acid bath.

I might be tempted to just go with new sand and good live rocks to get you going right.

Good luck!

Would cider vinegar do?
