Have a Fusion 10 with Skyelight...I've tried several common timers and 2 of the Skylights...If I see the tank in the middle of the night, the led's are glowing and there is a feint smell of electricity...obviously dangerous!...any thoughts about a better timer that will not leak juice to the led's?...I'm pretty sure that there is no salt creep down there...Thanks...:(

Are you sure the LEDs are on and you arent seeing the reflection of light from something else? These timers typically involve a physical disconnect modality so there would not be a way for current to leak through. Does it click when it switches on and off?

Do you have a multimeter?

I am sure that the LED's are glowing...not a reflection in the middle of the night...everything is black...this is not an aquarium timer, digital and non- digital units were tried...I assume they click when they go on...the on and off are working properely...have in mind a better unit?...what should I look for and what's a multimeter?...I'll google that...

A multimeter is used to measure electrical signals. You can get a cheap one line just to measure if there is a voltage on the line when it should be off, as you suspect.
