I was wondering if someone could help me program my Apex. I want to program it so when I have a power outage, everything doesn't turn on at the same time.

Example:
When power comes back on, I want the COR return pump to turn on first, then WAV, then Skimmer, then so on and so on.

Thanks.

I guess what I need to know is how do I delay something from turning on after it loses power? That way I can put a delay of 1 min intervals for items I want to turn on. Thanks.

The If Power command has a timer exactly for this purpose. Example:

If Power Apex Off 005 Then OFF

This would turn off an output during a power outage, then wait 5 minutes after power is restored before turning the output back on.

Be sure to read my tutorial on Apex Power Monitoring for step by step instructions on integrating the Apex with a UPS backup battery:

Thanks, will do. One more question.

Would this command work as well? Defer 002:00 Then ON

No, Defer is ignored when the Apex is first powered on.

Does this not work on the apex classic? Or would I need to supply power straight to the brain to make this happen? I just tried to set up this action but cannot get the "off" command to populate after the "power apex".

So tried this on one of my outlets (my reef wave pump). When I put the if power off command, the reef wave pump defaults to off and will no turn on. Am I missing something, sorry for all the questions. My setting is below.

What is your setting for "Power monitor enable" on the Apex Misc Setup screen?

Screen Shot 2020-09-25 at 10.50.13 AM.png

If you do not have the 12v Auxiliary power adapter plugged into the Apex, then this setting needs to be Disabled. If you have it enabled but don't have the 12v adapter plugged in, then the Apex thinks there's a power outage so your If Power Apex command is turning off the output.

It was enabled and I do not have the aux power plugged in. So I disabled it and put the If Power Apex Off 005 Then OFF on my ReefWave outlet. Once I set the setting in, it still turns off the outlet for it.

Try rebooting the Apex. I can't remember for sure if a reboot is needed when you change the power monitoring feature.

Actually, it worked. It was delayed to turn on. I set it to 1 min and it came back on after I finished typing the message. Thank you for you help. Really appreciate it.
