I’m working on it! I actually love featuring other tanks as it’s interesting to compare different styles of reefing and learn from each-other. I’m going to be in Vancouver next month and will try and find a tank or two to check out and film
While I’m there . Also going to be in Connecticut for KOR in a few weeks!

Each tip I snipped I glued next to the frag, about 1/2" away. I did it to about 7 total frags in my system that had a few branches worth trying this on.

Remind me to check back in a month or two if I forget. :)

2 week update. Every cut is now healed with new polyps. The tips that were glued next to the original frag are starting to encrust. The master frag is still encrusting as usual.

pH varies between 8.0 - 8.3, dKH around 8.5-8.7 (dosing manually still, about 100ml a day). Nitrates are 10ppm, phosphate is 0.13ppm. Calcium is 440ppm, Mag is 1320ppm.

PAR at the level these frags are at varies between 400 and 280, I'm running an 8 bulb ATI Powermodule (LED Wifi version).

No more aqua forest! Cycled off of it and now going all brs with tropic marine salt. Going to start a new thread because of this change. Will post when i do. But here are some pics of the tanks progress.

do it, my sister accidentally damaged my slimers tips and it’s grown faster and more tips. One of my fastest growers now. I periodically will stick my hand in there and pinch off some tips.

My WD was doing the same thing so I decided to frag it. Now a few months later both the base and frag I cut have started to show some good growth. I’ll post some pictures soon.

Ive been reading that snipping a bit off an sps coral can jumpstart growth. I know a frag will base out first from it trimmed area.

-Will sps corals grow and branch faster if trimmed?
-If so how much cutting is optimal or could a razor blade score be efficient?

I think it depends on the type of sps, fast grower vs slow grower..my anacropora grow fast and I discovered by mishap even the small frags grow faster when damaged or cut...I started with a 1.5 inchfrag of neon green Elkhorn accidentally broke off one of three of it's prongs (1/2 inch) and the host coral TOOK OFF! This is some images as well as some I have clipped in the past showing the growth afterwards half inch to one inch clips have worked for me with no issues so far.
