propagating coral, glue small plug to a larger plug? or try to remove coral?

I have some Zoas and Palys glued to the biggest plugs I had at the time (1" squares), however, I want to move them to even larger plugs. . . should I just glue to previous plug to the bigger plug, or try to remove the coral?
