A few posts back I mentioned The lotto and watching TANKS lol. If you've been following you know about the temporary tank in my mancave. Well I finally did something with it. Removed the rocks and drained it empty. But not before setting this up!

To be honest I'm not sure what I'll put in it yet lol. I know whatever it is it's gotta be small. I was thinking about a shrimp and goby pair. Over the last 6 days I've just been doing a little here and there if I have a few minutes. I thought about maybe starting a nano build thread for it, but maybe I'll just make it an expansion for the prostar.

I picked up a 10lb bag of sand and a tiny wavemaker from Amazon for the nano the other day. And I found my old intank media basket from my old fluval 13.5. It's snug in the filter section, but fits and gives me somewhere to put carbon, GFO, whatever I need. The wavemaker is made by hygger, and I must say that besides for the controller programming, I am very impressed at the amount of flow this tiny thing puts out. So much that I'm going to order another 1 or 2 for the Prostar. It's the perfect size for small dead flow areas and can be hid easily.

I took a cyphastrea that wasn't doing too good in the Prostar and put it in the nano with a rock that had a few hairy mushrooms on it. The Reefbreeder Nano light came with the tank and stand used and so far I like the color it puts out.

Ok last post lol... For now. A while back I mentioned thinking about trying some zoa from a somewhat local R2R member. I gassed up the Stinger and hit the highway lol. A few tolls and hours later.....

I just set up my prostar 90 and it is blowing sand around even with my return pump turned all the way down. Did you replace the return nozzle? Or what did you do to prevent that?
yep this happened to me with my prostar 90, and i had to swap to a DC pump, that i could control the power. my pump prior was wayyyyyyyy to strong for this size tank. also later down the road i also changed my sand to a coarser sand just because i got annoyed with how easy the fish could move the thin sand around.

Every night one of my clowns goes down by the mushrooms and pushes the sand around lol. I got a new addition that's even worse with the sand lol. Hell make his debut shortly. I wanna make sure he's healthy and eating

I actually bought a random flow generator attachment to put on the return and I also bought some loc line and a splitter to try but I won’t be able to try them out until Thursday when I get home. One of those options should do the trick for me

Just beware of the plumbing size. An adapter might be needed because the plumbing is metric. If it works, can you show me what parts you use. I would love to add a RFG to the tank!

Sorry for the late reply, the RFG unfortunately did not quite fit. But I was able to find a splitter and two duckbill type nozzles that work great for me. No more sand flying everywhere. How is your build going? Can you give an update on your current livestock?

What's up everyone. Been working a lot of OT lately. Finally got some real off time lol. The tank has pretty much been on auto pilot. One of my favias died. And one of the lyretail anthia died. The favia was declining for awhile and the anthias I think got bullied by the others. Very disappointing. Parameters in the tank have been pretty stable, especially the ALK,CAL, and MAG. My nitrates crept up to 20 so I've done a few 25 gallon water changes over the last few weeks. As of last week's testing it's down to around 10 which is where I want it. Here's the latest FTS.

Now some good updates. The zoas I got from a fellow member have been mounted and they're doing very well. I also added a diamond goby to help keep the sand clean. I hadn't had very good luck with them in the past but he's been eating frozen and doing his thing with the sand. Here's him making his debut to you guys lol

If you noticed in the last pic, there's been a few coral additions as well. Some from local hobbyists from R2R and some from my LFS. Yellow chalice, green star polyps, pocillopora, and octospawn. My other two favias are doing very well. I've been keeping an eye on them since the one started to decline.

Yesterday was my LFS's 45th anniversary party/sale. Of course I had to work lol, and they had some great doorbuster sales. Sooooo I made a bargain with the wife so she'd go for me. She got me two emerald crabs, a cleaner shrimp, and some clean up crew. They also had a good sale on Fritz RPM salt so I had her grab a few boxes. They all pretty much know me there and one of the guys helped her pick out a coral lol. She chose a frag of Eagle Eye zoas. They even gave her a T-shirt for going for me lol !
